Reardon Road runs east from Eliot Street, at the corner where Mallard Street begins, to Cottage Street in the Nutting Lake section. Until about 1990 it was School Street. It comes from Plan G of Nuttings Lake Park Extension, dated December 1916 and recorded in Plan Book 35, Plan 76, which shows "School St." running east from the meeting of Eliot, Main and Winter Streets to Cottage Street, lined with narrow cottage lots, and the directory of 1931 describes School Street as running "from Cottage westerly." No school stood on it, and the plan gives no reason for the name.

An article of 1942 "to accept School Street in South Billerica, Nuttings Lake Section" was dismissed. At the annual meeting of February 9, 1946 the town voted to accept "School Street from Elliot Street 550 feet," and on October 28, 1946 a special town meeting accepted its laying out with the other Nutting Lake streets and voted money for water mains on it; the town's list of accepted streets gives "School St. (N. L.) -- From Eliot St. 2-9-46 -- 10-28-46." It is not one of the roads of the 1831 map accepted in 2016.

Billerica had another School Street, off Andover Road, and the Nutting Lake street was renamed Reardon Road, probably during the selectmen's program of 1988 to 1991 that ended duplicate street names; the lists of that program printed in the 1988 report do not include it, and the record of the change has not been found. Reardon Road appears in the list of streets repaved under the town's pavement management program in fiscal 2003. No record explains the new name.
